The DoJ’s job is to enforce the law and protect US citizens from foreign and domestic threats. Trump’s nominee for Attorney General (head of the DoJ) is Jeff Sessions, a Senator from Alabama. Sessions has a history of being racist. He once said that the KKK was “Ok” until he found out its members smoked pot. He called the NAACP and ACLU “un-American”. He has a history of trying to deny African Americans the right to vote. In 1986, he was the first person in half a century to be rejected by the Senate Judiciary Committee as a lower court nominee, during a time the Republicans controlled the Senate. https://www.justice.gov/about http://www.npr.org/2016/11/18/502636034/racially-charged-remarks-derailed-trumps-attorney-general-nominee-30-years-ago |
